On The 250th Anniversary of The United States Military & The 248th Anniversary of the American Flag.
"Act Worthy of Yourselves".
There seems to be some confusion and ignorance online about "Trump's Fascist Military Parade" taking place today on June 14, 2025.
Some people are even trying to compare it to a military dictatorship and places like North Korea, because it also happens to fall on the current president's birthday.
So, for the sake of history, here's a small lesson for you as to why there is a Military Parade today:
On June 14, 1775 The Second Continental Congress founded The Continental Army, The Continental Navy, and the Continental Marines for the purpose of common defense against Great Britain. They still would not officially declare independence for almost another year, but this move solidified their stance against the tyranny of the King, and is considered the birth of America's Military.
Three days later, the first major battle of the American Revolution, at Bunker and Breed's Hills, would be fought. Major General Dr. Joseph Warren, who performed the Boston Massacre autopsies, would lose his life there.
Two years later, on this day in 1777, the Provincial Congress would adopt a resolution that "the flag of the United States be thirteen alternate stripes red and white" and that "the Union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation".
On June 14, 1801, former Major General Benedict Arnold died of Gout all the way in England. So ashamed and full of regret for his betrayal of his friends and country, he requested to be buried in his Continental Uniform. On his deathbed, he was said to have said "Let me die in this old uniform in which I fought my battles. May God forgive me for ever having put on another."
He rests in St. Mary's Church, Middlesex, London.
One hundred years later, on June 14, 1877, America observed the first Flag Day, which would eventually become a national holiday, on the anniversary of the founding of both the American Military and the Adoption of the American Flag.
Today marks the 250th Anniversary of the birth of the United States Military. The intent of the parade today is to honor both the ones who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country over the last 250 years, like Dr. Warren, and those who currently are serving their Country in the Armed Forces as well as honoring the birth of the American Flag.
Don't let the narrative be shifted into something it's not. Know your history, and be proud of it.
Celebrate today.♥️🤍💙
"Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired of. Our enemies are numerous and powerful; but we have many friends, determining to be free, and heaven and earth will aid the resolution. On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important question, on which rest the happiness and liberty of millions yet unborn. Act worthy of yourselves."
-Dr. Joseph Warren
